{adventures abroad} eastern europe for thanksgiving

we're headed to eastern europe for thanksgiving! we'll visit prague, vienna, and budapest on a nine-day adventure with my mom and stepdad (it'll be their first-ever trip to europe)! here we go...

{party animals} ahoy! it's a boy! baby shower inspiration

one of my very best friends is having her first baby -- a precious little boy named jameson -- in february, and i simply can't wait to meet him!  but first, some party inspiration...

{holidays} happy halloween!

happy halloween to you, friends!  this year the girls and i went as the spice girls, greatest girl band of all time.  the boys were the soggy bottom boys, and i think they pretty much nailed it.  we trick-or-treated with our little baby spice, had the customary living room dance party, and even went up to boulder for a little while to party with the college kids (not recommended when you're 30 years old, and especially not when you're 30 years old and dressed as a 90s icon).

{design nerd} our diy upholstered headboard

this project has been on my to-do list for way too long, and i'm so excited to finally be able to share it with you!  we bought this fabric from urban outfitters about a thousand years ago.  it used to be on our dining room wall as faux wallpaper in our last two apartments, but it doesn't really fit on any of the walls in our house, so we decided to make it into an upholstered headboard.  i used grace's diy instructions on design*sponge here {fyi: i tweaked the shape of the headboard a little bit and skipped the legs altogether} and i couldn't be happier with how it turned out {the cats like it too}!

{local love} this is our town

our beloved town made the #2 spot on money magazine's list of the best places to live in america!  i'm not sure how it fell from the top spot, but we still think louisville is #1...

{homebody} garden goodies

it's our first summer in our new house and it seems like every time we turn around something new is growing in the yard!  we've planted a few things, but everything you see here was already growing {and those strawberries are the absolute sweetest strawberries i've ever tasted!}...

{memory lane} around the world in ten years

ten years ago today, a nice boy in clown shoes and a pick-up truck took me out on a date.  we took our first trip together three weeks later and have been partners in travel and life ever since.  we're the luckiest.  i'm the luckiest.
