A and i went to our first-ever broncos game today! okay, it was a preseason game and okay, it was a million degrees in the sun, but we did get to see peyton manning play for 14 whole minutes {and more importantly, we got to spend the day with A's parents showing them all of the wonderfulness of denver}!
tonight A and i met some friends at pepsi center in denver to see our dallas mavericks play the denver nuggets! we got there a little early and so we took a little detour to the 16th street mall, specifically h&m...{ps i love the fact that you can walk from h&m to pepsi center and coors field and probably mile high stadium too although it might be a longer walk - the point is everything you could ever want is right there in downtown denver. including six flags.}
as i mentioned before, A and i headed to our nation's capital {and my birthplace} for thanksgiving... we flew into reagan national on saturday afternoon and spent a relaxing evening with my parents at the condo we rented for the week {yummy home-cooked meals courtesy of my mom!}.
sunday was our first full day in dc. we scoped out the eastern market that morning for breakfast hot dogs and some sweet flea market shopping...
as midday approached, we took the metro to fedex field for our very first redskins home game! unfortunately we lost, but it was a really good game and a priceless experience {oh, and something we can cross off of our bucket list!}.
we spent the rest of the evening pouting in our adorable rental on capitol hill and went to bed early {i mean, how could we resist that comfy bed?}.
on our first date, A learned that i was a redskins fan. then he asked me to marry him {there was some other stuff in between, but you get the gist}. this man loves football the way i love hello kitty and the color pink, and he loves the redskins they way i love a really hot pair of heels {the kind that look soooo good in the store but break your ankle and your heart}. every year since we started dating we've gone to see our redskins play the cowboys in dallas. sometimes we lose, sometimes we win {well, twice anyway}, sometimes i get sassy and cause a ruckus. this year, we couldn't make it to the game in dallas, so we're going to see our team play at home {hopefully that means we'll win?}! we're spending this week in washington dc with my mom and stepdad - we'll all spend sunday with eighty thousand of our closest friends at fed ex field and thanksgiving at my godparents' house. we'll be doing plenty of good old-fashioned sightseeing too {A has never been to dc!} but first things first: are you ready for some football??
