{adventures abroad} iceland: day five - the pearl & the port

wednesday morning we walked from our hotel to oskjuhlíð hill, a designated outdoor area and home to the pearl. the building was once used for hot water storage; these days it houses a viking saga museum, a strange little christmas shop, and a rooftop cafe. we went to all three and also took a windy walk along the terrace to take in the 360-degree views of the city.

back at the hotel, we took a nap and packed our bags {it was after all our last full day in iceland}. then we took the bus to city center and headed to the old port for some legendary lobster soup {mmmmmm i wish i had some right now}...
we grabbed a post-soup drink at stofan, a cute little cafe in a cute little house that looks like a cute little living room. we wandered around the city for a little bit and i think maybe ate some over-priced sushi and under-priced ice cream before turning in early that night.
