{stateside} day four in dc: capitol hill

we got a bit of a late start on wednesday. it was chilly, but blue skies peeked through gray clouds. we decided to tour the capitol building, with its magnificent rotunda and rich history.

after a quick bite to eat, we crossed the street to the united states botanic garden {already decorated for christmas!}.

next up: the national archives, where we stood in awe of the declaration of independence, the constitution, and the bill of rights {no photos allowed}; and the museum of american history, where we found ourselves caught somewhere between disney world and history class.

exhausted from the day, A and i spent a quiet evening in and went to bed early while my parents the party animals went out with some friends...
