{stateside} day two in dc: national mall

on day two we walked to the national mall to see all there was to see. we admired the capitol building {and the statues and ducks outside!} before going to the library of congress {one the most beautiful buildings ever}.

at lunchtime we headed over to the national museum of the american indian to check out its legendary cafeteria. the options were overwhelming - we ended up with a green chile bison burger and bison chili {super yum!}.
next we went to the national air and space museum. it was huge. and amazing. we spent hours there and still didn't see everything, but i think {hope?} we at least hit the highlights.

after the air and space museum {and a starbucks break}, we made our way to the national gallery of art {i had the most fun in the more modern east wing, but the whole place was absolutely amazing}.

later on we met back up with my parents and went to chinatown for an insanely delicious seafood dinner. then it was bedtime {we were worn out!}
